Starbucks was established in the US in 1971 and it is the largest coffee franchise in the world. Starbucks now has over 28,000 stores worldwide, and the plan is to open 1,000 stores in the UK in the next 5-7 years.

Starbucks has developed significantly across Europe in the past years. Starbucks entered the European market in 1998, and started by purchasing 65 stores from the Seattle Coffee Company in the UK. During that time, Starbucks was able to build on these foundations and has crafted a loyal line of British customers.
